Hey guys,I am shopping for an insurance for our rental in TX, and the insurance agent proposed to NOT get 300K liability coverage, and instead rely on my home liability coverage to cover the rental.

What type of coverage do you have for your rentals?

I can afford medical coverage or whatever, but at some point we all retire into the system, at that point you'll get better benefits by staying in, like free drugs.

Note that this is a highly unusual way to collect commission and may well raise a stink with your BIC since they will think (probably incorrectly) that this activity is outside their E&O coverage.

I hear that there is Renter's insurance I can mandate in the lease and must ask Tenant to include "Personal Liability" Protection coverage which is usually $100K.

If the OP were the one rehabbing the house and reselling to an owner occupant, I'd say that he needs to know both of those numbers.But, since he is just wholesaling the deal, I believe it's more important that he has a value that is supportable, even if it's not comprehensive or completely accurate.
