I think communication and trying to put yourself in your loved ones shoes is important, at the end as important (or even more) as our future financial goals is the day to day with our family.

Storage units, rent to a business to build out on their own?

It was a deciding factor when I was looking for houses to use as a shop and for storage with enough room to work on a vehicle out of the weather. 

My decision was to pursue another strategy (larger multifamily & self storage). 

Financials/rent roll, what's the unit mix, how much parking available, walkability, leases or M2M, w/d in units, carports/garages/storage available, self-managed or PM?
