Hey everyone,I have a rental property in Baltimore that I have been using as a long-term rental for nurses throughout the pandemic.

My family is growing and my mother has been fighting cancer in her own home with my dad, as they live alone and have been for years for their own privacy.

Her mother also just moved in and is also on disability.

I am planning to house hack the place and convert part of the house to a Studio with private entrance to rent to traveling nurses (current plan).

I learned of this deal from my mother that worked for the city at the time.

The plan is to rent it out to a family and advertise the other side as a MIL (mother in law) suite so it’ll make renting out the entire thing easier.

I furnished the top unit and am renting it to travel nurses as its close to the hospitals.

Also do not count out MTR platforms such as FurnishedFinder and Kopa to rent to traveling nurses and young professionals.

I have worked as a nurse for the past twelve years and would like to do something that will increase my portfolio.  

The basic reason why folks have learned that you make more with the 1-6 month furnished rentals is that you don't have to pay the cleaning lady 10 times a month, you don't have to deal with 10 check ins and check outs per month, you aren't dealing with damage caused by party animals, etc.Travelling nurses was one example held up of your target tenants.
