@Remy Balogun  The hardest part for me was dealing with people not understanding what the hell I was trying to do, and thinking it was some kind of scam or rip-off.

In Vegas, it was great at first, then my tenants started losing their jobs one by one, and then I ran into a scam artist, which now I know to do a criminal background too on a prospective tenant.

You can typically find all these properties on the main retail sites like realtor.com and trulia.To answer you question, it does not appear to be a scam.

I quickly checked on the Toledo Gov website and the new contractor I decided to hire completely scammed us out of $4,400 and never pulled the permits for the job along with other jobs.
