He just never understood his insurance well enough and so got pretty screwed up since he never bought insurance for himself.Just to comment on the rest:  I've only heard of the trust just helping with hiding your assets, but as Kohler's book points out (and others), during court you should be disclosing all your asset anyway...

If I understood this correctly while one can avail free cash during a cash out refinance it can put one in a precarious situation as it also increases ones principal loan amount and if anytime in the near future the property value depreciates for any unknown reason one owes a higher loan amount on an undervalued property.right?

I manage a property where the tenant signed with the owner (a few months prior to me taking over) and understood the owner had a no pet policy in place in the Lease.

Understood, but the statute says "any person" which is NOT a servicing company. 

I found out more of her particulars and understood her goal was to stay in the home and just add another client or two in order to get back on her feet.
