There are so many GREAT ways to make RE work...I have always maintained it is easier to make sure and stay legal.

You can make RE work for you and you can bend the rules.

We had gone through and finished all the walls/ceilings and painted the units when we ran water through the lines we ended up with leaks everywhere and had to rework many of the walls and repainting. 

You'll need a real estate/title attorney to review and rework the contract and verify he even has any merit in his contract .

I've seen studies and anecdotal evidence that suggest ANY company (manufacturing OR service provider) that does not have some type of Quality initiative is losing as much as 35% of their bottom line, due to rework, scrap, premature repair or replacement, dissatisfied customers and lost business.

Happens at my non-RE work all the time.
