We've used the Schluter underlayment in the past and never had a problem with grout or tiles cracking, and if you were concerned about the cold, you could always run radiant heat.

Neither the wife nor I were clear on if this is both units or just the unit that had the actual fire but we will inquire when we get the call with the results.The units are heated by ceiling radiant heating.

Make sure the mobile home's electrical system can handle the amount of power these space heaters require, and stay away from those that blow out hot air that might catch draperies or furniture on fire, and instead opt for the "radiator" style ones that don't have a hot element or fan but instead offer radiant heat that won't catch things on fire.
