They are incentivized to instill fear in you - they make money doing this work. 

Attorneys and real estate professionals make money selling their seminars on the laws and instilling fear.  

And if the gas company is willing to help with the tab of a new instillation then that would be a benefit.

One thing the military has instilled in me is great ethics and morals.

Further, the community will look better and instill a greater pride in residents if the units are new.The exception might be in a very low end community where older small metal on metal units are the only thing that make pricing work - basically a slum.

And, it instills so much more confidence knowing they recognize the mistakes, because there learning from them, improvement is impossible from arrogance. 

All I’m saying is, use your own judgment, do your own due diligence, do fair and balanced research, steer clear of naysayers because they eventually will instill more fear in an already big step to invest in yourself and if you let other people's opinions influence you, you can just stay in that same spot and be in the same situation, so be the strong committed person and move, do something.
