Not only are Queens and Brooklyn the busiest Counties in terms of activity (new listings), but they also have some of the most competitive investors in our market.Properties are selling for 8.5% more than they were in 2023, showing us just how desirable the borough is.With its proximity to NYC, numerous public transportation options, and overall vibe and attraction, it is no wonder why the popularity has been reflected in the buy-and-hold rental market.

I thought that was a good question so I am asking you all.Does anyone have a good idea as to how we get paid for setting this up and what structure needs to be in place for that to happen?

This is just me brainstorming ideas based on the scenario you wrote.

I normally end up going with a small bank that provides favorable terms for holding my cash.

Our idea is to continue living in our unit and have our next-door neighbor (attached unit) pay us rent, which would help cover our new mortgage.

Definitely recommend this to anyone in business or real estate as it explains the ideas of focusing on your business and not in your business.All this being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with acquiring your rentals on your own. 

If you're investing remotely, especially for buy/hold, I highly recommend for the investor to spend some time in the cities that they are interested in
