I like most of them by the way.I take it your buying something out in Yakima or walla Walla I love the wine that comes from that region.Money is made when wineries are sold... and when if your lucky your brand gets nationally renouned and some other player with lots of money comes in and buys you.My business partner for years   was president of Beringers and took it public and sold it to Fosters..

Particularly when legal or accounting issues are involved, some members seem to spit out answers that are completely wrong and in some cases, are reiterating bad info they received from someone else who is NOT in the know.As far as your questions, the majority consensus here at BP Nation has spoken (one of the greatest assets to any BP member for sure!)

thanks to all for the advice. i really hate to see the property continue to fall into disrepair, but if the bank isn't going to do anything about it, well, there is not much i can do either. at this point, the bank appears to have sold the mortgage to another bank, or financial institution which just happens to be a subsidiary of the first bank. the taxes were paid, but nothing toward the mortgage has taken place. the owner moved out back in 2009 after he filed bankruptcy. he at one point agreed to sell me his interest in the house for $1000, but it sounds like that would be a waste of time and money at this point

While Kodak & Xerox have probably lost their glory, it's been replaced in Rochester by the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital (largest employer I believe) as an academic and research institute (as well as trickle down bio-tech), Paychex, Windstream (which bought Paetec), and Wegmans (still a top company to work for) to name a few.
