Given that the big cities seem to be having a hard time controlling their runaway housing prices, and given that Western Mass isn't that far away and will be better connected by rail soon (to NYC), and given that there are many jobs/household configurations that require just one foot in the door in the City, I think if you pick the right spots in Western MA you will see some genuine appreciation....

I have bookings for fall and winter also.I think their is a huge difference between a vacation rental and an urban STR.Until mass gatherings such as weddings kick back in I wouldn't want to be holding a mortgage on a house that won't be booked unless I were to get a fantastic deal and I could make the mortgage payment for up to a year with minimal bookings.

There was a lot of local anger about STRs and votes from the masses are all City Council members care about.   

Some of the places my GF and I are looking into are Florida and Mass., since we have family there.

there are different levels of training.not all are worthless.. not by a long shot.although the one's that main pitch is that   YOU too can get rich with little or no money.OR you don't need money for real estate and the way to do it is wholesaling.then yes I agree.but there are advanced HOW TO trainers that for the well capitalized student they can bring value.but agree the mass marketed TV Guru's generally only 10% of those that sign up will ever do anything with the information.. real estate is not a get rich quick generally speaking.. can you make a nice living yes.. is there just like any other industry an apprenticeship period yes...

In Mass, 99.9% of the attorney's are also licensed agents or brokers, so they have a better understanding of the legal restrictions the city faces in a tax foreclosure proceeding.Once you have you're attorney/partner, you set your radius and start reaching out to the Tax authorities within your radius.

Nothing worse than cold training to the masses without someone to get answers from on unique situations that pop up.Are there any successful teams within the brokerage you could interview with also?
