For me I dont want to upgrade to a pro membership because as a contractor there are no perks/incentive for me to upgrade.

BUT your membership in an LLC is an asset.  

You might be able to access some of the association forms without a membership too.

Will all the distributions be equal to the membership interest or will it be weighted based on other factors?

One month ago I sold the idea to my wife and got her support; at the same time purchased my Plus membership, subsequently upgrading to the Pro because the value is just completely worth it.
