I do believe, though, that if you are screening well and not settling for red-flag tenants, then you'll get good tenants who have well-behaved pets and clean up after them.

The property is livable, but needs the inside and out cleaned up to pass a VA appraiser, so i will have a landscaper come out and do a basic clean up and a cleaning crew come on the inside and make sure the inside is clean and wiped up.

In our years we've only had to clean up after 1 set of tenants who I don't think ever cleaned up after the dogs in the back yard-how they let the kids play out there i'll never know.So far all units have very responsible pet owners.
