Hi Nick, No, the purchase of a membership interest in a limited liability company (LLC) would be considered a purchase of a partnership interest and not a purchase of real estate for tax purposes. 

It also may help you network and get a referral from another MRP if they happen to remember you or look you up in the membership database. 

The first one is free and then there is a membership fee you can pay for annually or you can pay as you go.

An undercapitalized and under-insured LLC can be pierced, and members can have personal liability.Many lenders will require a personal guarantee of the LLC's debt, so there's no additional protection gained.If your's is a buy and hold strategy, your heirs won't get the benefit of a step up in basis upon the inheritance of LLC membership interests rather than direct interests in real property.This is not to say LLCs shouldn't be used, just other factors to consider.
