I am not sure if he is still in business but when I lived in Palo Alto I did a few specs and used Dick Coker he lived in LA hills  right next to you  and had an office on Homestead by 85... he was very good..

Though I don't have Vacation Rental properties myself, we have some projects we have under construction (San Clemente Spec, and San Clement Condos if you look on Investor Deal Diaries) or in for permits that I think would make great luxury Vacation Rental units.

We had those fake video camers (the one were you put batteries in them and they had a red blinking light) around the whole house.

Buy and hold (I am still a landlord), land development, spec building, wholesaling, short sales, commercial (apartment buildings), and some lending.

It puts them on the hook if they remove the battery and something happens.

Are you making offers on spec homes?

I split the lots, built some spec homes, and did very well until many other builders discovered the same opportunity.

Worked in construction before that building spec homes and doing remodels/additions.I'm looking to get plugged into the local/national community of like-minded entrepreneurial investors.
