But is that just paranoia?

<coldblooded>I feel sorry for the person who tried to off himself but with my anxiety and paranoia there is no way I could live peacefully with them one wall away from where I lay my head. 

However; schizophrenics, and especially paranoid schizophrenics are one of the few that can be prone to delusions, paranoia, and dangerous reactions.

A good part of the stories that circulate are the product of tenant paranoia, of course, but there are certainly people out there renting out SFR or apartments who get their jollies pawing through their tenants' stuff.

What I want to know is if these low interest rates will last, call it paranoia but I'm not sure how much longer the $USD will remain dominant; i want to get secured in real assets ASAP (but not bury myself in debt i can't repay, it's a double edged sword).

Nothing wrong with a small dose of paranoia. 

Understand, it's a hedge against inflation and general market paranoia.2) It should be a small percentage of your portfolio, at most.

I have to say, most of the newbies talking about asset protection is really out of paranoia and the unknown more than actual protection arising from law suits.
