that X argument does not work when your talking such large incomes.. although that could change with the new tax laws .. we will have to see.but in the past  if your knocking down 30k a month  ( nice family income for sure.) and you have a 1.5 mil mortgage at todays rates that's a mortgage payment still of only 10 to 11k a month with taxs and insurance that still leaves you with 15k plus a month to buy groceries.I posit that it was tougher in my day with a 40k income and a 100k house  wifes basically were not in the work force as much and if they were it was not high paying.. ( reality of the day) interest rates in those days and we are talking late 70s  were 9 to 10% not 3 to 4 like today.. but it still worked you could be all in on a home for 1200 a month or so.. and remember houses cost the same in Rochester New York in the day as they did in Cupertino.. 

OH maybe hire a house wife who is looking for extra income and show her what to do ???

On a side note: a house wife eviction is not possible.

(Probably illegal but it was a family business lol) I got married last year and have been a "housewife" since.

You can bribe them to take time off until the house is sold and you could even bribe them for protection of the house during construction "I'll give you $200 now and if nothing happens to that house, the workers, the materials and tools I'll give you another $500 when it is sold" but the odds of you getting them to pack up and move is almost zeroYou bought what you bought, you can't turn a hoe into a house wife and you can't turn a crack house in a war zone into HGTV in the suburbs

The person (the housewife) who engaged me in the negotiation does not really speak English.

I had a house, wife and 2 kids by the end and a family business to come back and run.

Just a data point I dont think women are like 50s house wifes anymore ( my mother) the home chores are shared a lot more..
