Hello BP community!! I wanted to make an introduction and ask some of the real estate veterans here their advice on ANYTHING AT ALL. Any books or resources would be of great assistance to me!  So, I am 26yrs old. I am from NYC and moved to Houston about 4 years ago. I have my bachelors in business law (I wanted to go into the route of becoming an attorney) instead, I opened up my own tax preparation office and went to town, it was great but it wasn't something I had my whole heart in, even though I've been in accounting since I was 16! (Probably illegal but it was a family business lol) I got married last year and have been a "housewife" since. Needless to say, this little fire cracker from New York (or anyone used to a fast paced life) isn't doing so well with staying home and not working. I have been feeling very useless. So I'm doing something about it! I've always had a passion for re decorating, rehabbing, wood working, DIYs etc. I'm very handy for a yankee lol I'm interested in Single family homes, to start. Eventually I would love to have a few multi family properties. My credit is HORRIBLE, 488 or so (I know! I was SO STUPID when I was 18) I ruined it before I could even think. So I figured I'd have to start with that if I want to be able to get any sort of loan. I have started looking for credit repair companies but my husband (who is much older than I am) says it's a waste of money, so instead he has constructed dispute letters to send off to the creditors. I have also enrolled myself in real estate license courses with Allied. Personally I feel there are WAY TOO MANY agents in Houston and not enough properties IMO, I may be totally wrong. It isn't something I see myself doing long term, But I do think it is a way for me to REALLLLLYYY learn about real estate. Not to mention I could represent myself and can show myself a home rather than wait on an agent. I figure after working in the industry for a couple of years, studying the market and fixing my credit that I would have a good foundation for the start of my REI career. I just want to make the right decisions going into this, because it really is something that DRIVES me and I want to learn all I can do I can do this properly. I am also very open to internships! I would love to get my toes wet or just watching how things go down. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks! Alex
