My bride and I want to invest in downtown condos in some select markets like KC, but for now we are trying to raise the money and develop the credit to do so.

I came from a very financially poor childhood where nothing was ever handed to you, you had to work to get everything and I guess that I have never gotten away from that mentality.

Something real that I can pass on to my children and ensure that they, or their future children, will never have to endure the hardships of my childhood.

The things we were taught in our childhood is not always the optimal money mindset.

Then they fill it out with their best friend, childhood buddy, best man at their wedding, salt of the earth kind of person.

My view is this-I'm not going to "ruin" my kids' childhood in order to reach financial independence (my kids are by no means spoiled).  

My mother took over the delinquent tax payments in order to save her childhood home for sentimental reasons.

I'm looking at offering on the property that is right text to my childhood home. 

I lived there all of my childhood and my family has been in the area for many generations.  

If your setting is rustic, this might work, but I'm not sure that most brides (and brides' mothers) are going to be thrilled about this option. - Caterers will want/need dedicated kitchen space to heat/prep food.
