I really don't want to spend that kind of money on the garage.

Meetup has caused all kinds of real estate groups to start up.

Right now it’s kind of a house hack since my son is moving into one of the apartments.  

Until you do it kind of just feels like playing a game of monopoly.  

The real first question is "why put your hard earned money into doing the hardest & riskiest kind of real estate investing"? 

What kind of returns can one expect? 

I'm not here to plug it, but to get an idea of what kind of content the BP community would find useful. 

I recently did it and I kind of wish I could go back to the way it was.

Echoing what others have mentioned, we'll need to take a look at your credit scores/history, and then also talk about possible co-signers if you want the best rate.As for down payment, that really depends on what kind of property, purchase price, types of rents, etc.
