Many landlords use an LLC to protect their assets and/or offer some privacy regarding their investments.

There will be some interesting privacy issues in the coming years.

Hi Shaun,I like long term private money off of credit reports, no PGs, and in land trusts for privacy so I do not own anything when lawyers check (lol)Cmon, do an asset search, I dare you!

thank you @Aaron Montague I'm really focussing on my direct marketing and other ways to buy properties.

We then evolved into trusts to hold the same as its easier to manage the holdings & (hopefully) eliminates future spousal/probate, privacy issues etc.

Was arrested, convicted for invasion of privacy.

I've had sellers who decline to even have pictures of their home up or a sign in the yard...usually for privacy and security reasons.

When these new spammers/scammers/etc. reach out to you they will know a surprising amount of information about you; your interestes, hobbies, causes; your {online} acquaintances and the organisations/institutions with whom you deal.From the "geek seat" of my non real estate job {Information Security & Privacy), it has been interesting watching this evolution.
