A little off topic - Drone Quadricopters
The drones are coming. Amazon talked about 30 minute drone delivery to your door steps, not today, but in a few years.
Yesterday, one of the neighbor kids was playing outside with his brand new Christmas toy. A WIFI drone quadricopter controlled by an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
It looks like this:
It can fly up high and turn and move around, the kid was controlling it with his iPhone. What is also interesting is it has two cameras on it and you can see what "IT" sees up high.
Here is a link to a complete REVIEW, the neighbor told me it's about $300.
It got me thinking.
Can an inspector use this to inspect the roofs and gutters instead of climbing up there?
Can investors use this to scout out abandoned properties with a NO TRESSPASSING sign from up high?
There is an ultrasound sensor so the drone can detect height. The wifi technology allows control about 150 feet range. However, it shouldn't be such a reach to be able to remotely control this gadget.
So, can landlords have one of these parked on site and use it to do a remote once a day fly over patrol of his/her properties?
What about sellers and listing agents? If an agent park one of these inside their listing, a potential buyer can connect to one of these at the property of interest, and remotely control using their tablet. The drone wakes up and ask the seller if he/she mind if someone browse around, the sellers says "OK go ahead", the drone is now controlled by a interested buyer, flying around, looking at the camera views.
I can go on and on...I don't think this is too far away.
A bit better industrial design...
Remote control, remote viewing...
Ruggedized for rain.
Cheaper...
Sell it at Home Depot...comes with a sign "BEWARE OF DRONES".
Thoughts?
