It got me thinking - how many of us might be unwitting Airbnb hosts?

Although BiggerPockets has some good ones, most of them are hosted via websites like Meetup or EventBrite. 

We host a monthly real estate meetup and we have people that come to that all the time and complain about what they didn't know.

Most hosts don't need an experienced assistant and many prefer (and enjoy) communicating with guests.

It seems like it is more at the behest of the hotel industry and the few permit holders wanting to protect their captured audience, because they strictly disallow hosted STRs, whether that be an ADU, extra room etc.

Many hosts encounter challenges because they are not readily available.

Additionally, consider hosting open houses to increase visibility.

But tiny things like visiting your own listing daily and making changes to it, tells the algorithm, "This host is an active host." 

They could be looking at the space to check legal egress, ceiling heights, window location and size, fire separation between units/hazardous areas (like boiler rooms, etc.) or a whole host of other things.
