I am not sure if adding gravel to the window wells will help as I have no experience with those.I did a lot of research on the french drain system which is basically burying a perforated drain pipe about 24 inches deep and pitching it toward the low spot of the lot.Water tends to move through the ground horizontally and through the path of least resistance.

John the only paper product that should go down a drain is toilet paper,as its designed to break down when it contacts water.No paper towels ,,,or the like ,,,thats a "No No".Drains wont handle it even if theyre "pitched " or "Graded" at a 1/4" drop per foot,,,which is optimum grade for a horizontal drain line gang.

The straight-through crack on the wall is a little puzzling because it looks like what you would see on a shear, where the underlying foundation just fell straight down, but all the bricks still appear to be horizontally aligned.

The soap dishes and other horizontal areas are always the first to deteriorate and start leaking into the wall due to being wet/soapy almost constantly, and, in the case of soap dishes placed at tub use level, some people tend to use them as a support aid, causing additional stress which ultimately fails.
