More importantly, I have never felt more vulnerable than when I was buckling a screaming newborn into a carseat, while running errands alone, still physically weakened and recovering from childbirth, with my wardrobe basically limited to stretchy clothes (impossible to conceal a weapon.)

It seems if you can conceal ownership in this manner you would also be able to pull those mortgages out of your name.

I live in Arizona, where we are allowed to carry guns on us without a permit, both concealed or out in the open.

In our case, there was an existing low roof addition and to fit the ductwork into it we had to create a chase to conceal the ductwork feeding each of the 2 rooms in the addition.  

It's very easy to set up an LLC in most states that completely conceals the owners in the public record.
