I went to a few and they tend to use more modern stuff but the worksmanship is not so nice.

Plus is a Mid-Century Modern and it's going to be fun to do .sometimes patience is a virtue.

In San Francisco, this process is yielding lots of older houses that are pretty and original on the outside and inside have very austere modern finishes.  

Eg, Foremost or American Modern during the vacant and under renovation phase. 

Currently, the City is in the process of developing a 1 million sq. ft area of land near the Union City BART station where they will build modern office buildings, along with several multi-unit residential buildings.

In doing so, I always Sheetrock the ceilings with 1/2in and I never texture them (smooth ceilings look more modern).
