If you are looking into suburbs of KC there are good schools on the MO side in Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Liberty, and Independence.

However, the HMV area of Lee’s summit is 5 min south where they bought in Raytown. so, while the property was cheaper by $50k vs if it was in Lee’s summit, that buyer will now get to tap into the higher renter demand of folks working in lees summit, but wanting the lower rent of Raytown.

Are the IT folks coming more from the Lee's Summit / Blue Springs area or will Independence / Raytown area also benefit from Cerner?

@Andrew Lee - From a completely outside view - not knowing anything about your situation - sell and take the $170K pay day (less the bills and closing).It also opens up your VA loan again.
