I'm hoping to use the income as a launch pad into RE investing.I have an understanding of the Charlotte, NC market as well as the Blue Ridge/Western NC market, and I'm hoping to invest in some rental cabins up there as well once I pick up some steam in FL.I look forward to meeting some of you and continuing my learning here!

If it really is cat urine and you have carpet in there, you may need to rip it out along with the pad, then check the subfloor and, if not too much damage (as in the urine hasn’t fully saturated the plywood), bleach, killz, an ozone unit, the replace/ reinstall the flooring.

I think you're pretty lucky in that, while your wife may not understand REI and doesn't care to, she also hasn't put the brakes on your ability to move forward.
