-Has anybody had issues buying on a block that was not completely developed (some abandoned homes across the street)?

I found an abandoned property that would make a great BRRRR 4-plex, and the only thing I could see from the outside was that it had what looked to my untrained eye like foundation problems.I left a note with the owner, and he reached back out to me a couple weeks later and said he's willing to talk -- because the entire back wall fell out. 

Ive started “driving for dollars”, looking for distressed/abandoned homes in the phoenix area for flippers/investors.

If so, this may be isolated and not as bad as you think.  3' into the washer drain is the back-up - Why can't it be snaked or change the small section of pipe if accessible or abandon the existing pipe and re-rout to another drain.Usually the water main shut off is near the water meter. trace the supply line attached to the meter.Call another plumber especially one that can find the main shutoff.  

Has anyone ever experienced this issue and have any idea on how I can still make this deal work, or should I just abandon ship and walk away from it?

I'm in idaho and want to take control of a property that's been abandoned for a decade

For example I block schedule writing yellow letters to abandon properties everyday.  

I have been very unsuccessful in locating a homeowner of an abandoned property.
