When someone claims they know for certain that global warming is real (or not real), I take that to mean that they don't appreciate the complexity of the scientific method and the difficulty in evaluating the changes to a complex ecosystem.

So here I am.I live on Long Island, NY, but to be honest I'm not entirely sure that this is an area I am that interested in investing in (even though most of the books I have read suggest the best policy is to start local, and stick to areas you are familiar with), because from what I have seen so far, there are other regions around the country that seem significantly more vibrant and expansive than the North East.

@Darrin Carey touched on a great point that I wanted to make: Getting your Real Estate License will not necessarily make you a better/smarter/faster/cheaper investor - the two skill sets are completely different.As an agent, you'll learn the concept of agency (representing the interests of another party in a transaction) and the associated laws in your state, and you'll learn the inner workings of the "closed ecosystem" that is the MLS.

Dont forget that a lot of the big franchises, KW, Remax, CB etc are all offering these inclusive in their brokerages now to lure agents in and then to keep them in as their database and whole history is on their server.Good luck with your development though, I would like to make a suggestion though, if you are in this development ecosystem goto www.EDx.org and check this class out its has 3 versions and its free.
