I'd done some reading in the past and thought a few of the main Canadian banks had such specialty trust divisions that could help you with plan setup.As for finding investments, networking with other investors, real estate agents, etc. is the way to go.Brian, from what I've heard is that CAN banks  make it extremely difficult to setup. 

My target for the first fund would be $5-10 million and I have a few HNW investors in my network but certainly not enough.

If you have a network of a couple consistent buyers, that's all you'll ever need.

Continue to network with people in real estate, go to real estate meetups, connect with investors in the forums.
