If you are doing 100/week that isn't all that many letters so even at a very good response rate you are probably only looking at 5-10 calls each batch, and really 2-3 is more likely unless you have targeted very well.MagicJack is an option for a new number.

Not exactly a Direct Mail superstar but I'll be dropping 240 cards in the mail tomorrow.I have been overanalyzing things and putting together a giant list and realized I was never going to send anything if I "finished" it first.The hope is to keep working on that as time allows and drop a couple hundred at least once a week (hopefully 2 times) to get things moving.The hope is if I can stay on track it will be time to follow up with this first batch around when I finish sending out the first piece to the completed list.

Also, you can divide the 1000 into different batches, so you don't get overwhelmed with calls if you get good responses to you marking campaign.Casey

I am about to send my very first batch and following the advice of many posters here, will put my return address but not my name on each envelope.As I address them, I am wondering - will putting a return address in a city like, say Beverly Hills, create a different response rate and negotiating dynamic than something more generic, like Los Angeles.

I buy the first 1000 names, hit them 3 times, and then rinse and repeat with the 2nd and 3rd batch of 1000 to complete 3 hits for the entire list over a few months (or 9 weeks depending on how it goes..I'm thinking 1k postcards/week right now or forget it!)...
