Thats how I got a house condemned one time,,,inspector saw foam(some prior renter sprayed around 15 years ago) in foundation and said it was unstable.

I'd like to add that you can still have unstable people, felons, etc. come to view the place even if it's not in a bad neighborhood, so don't let your guard down.

You mean put money that you would need in the case of an emergency, in a low return/unstable location where you have no control over how well it does, and will cost you when/if you need to access it for that emergency,...which by definition would mean you'd need it "right away"?
