One of my personal issues with my profession is schooling is still taught very much like an arts degree in the since of it being very subjective to the professors and what styles are being taught.

Also a adjunct professor at our nearby college.

If you want to be a doctor or chemist or professor then you have to go to college, no real way around it. 

Not much you can do with a Psych degree except become a professor and teach Psych degrees to other people.  

Note regarding Account Closed's point about teaching: yes, there are a bunch of professors that don't know a lot about practical application, but there are plenty that do and there are plenty of companies that not only value, but pipeline students from academic programs directly into their business model. 

My real estate investment class professor gave us an assignment of developing a pro-forma analysis for a property but only giving certain figures.

I taught Principles of Real Estate in the Department of Economics, Finance and Legal Studies at the University of Alabama College of Commerce and Business Administration for several years as an adjunct professor.

Something a college professor probably wouldn't grasp.I recently used a flat free broker to list. 

I imagine that UCSB visiting professors, graduate residencies, research fellowships etc. might be good markets for you if you are close enough to campus.

And generally, when faced with picking classes to satisfy degree requirements, generally you're better off taking classes from professors you like.
