I know a pull string fan makes more sense for a rental, but I was still irritated.

She sounded happy for me but also maybe a little irritated which I understand.

Two reasons why this is irritating:1.

Whether you were working in an office that was depressing because it tried too hard to be fun or an office that was depressing because it was depressing, going there meant submitting to various forms of low-level irritation (at the very least).
