One of my goals this year was to take actionable steps into jump starting my real estate journey, so here I am, taking that first step.A little about me: I'm a San Antonio native that lived out of state for a couple of years but has migrated back home.

The best way to learn about how to really invest in real estate is to read books, listen to good podcasts, and pair that with going to in-person meetups so you can see people just like you, married with 3 kids, who are making it work for them.

I have a couple of friends who have several rental units in Gettysburg and said the rents are good and he has many professionals who stay for a good amount of time and pay on time.  

Just a couple of notes:You need 8712 sqft of land for 3 units for r-2 in Tucson.  

Couple this with the fact that values are appreciating (even in the interior neighborhoods) and it becomes a great opportunity all the way around.  

The buyer finally reaches out to say that the bank is having a hard time seasoning a couple of the homes in their portfolio. 

A couple of mine are in Mesa, one in Florence, and I just added one in Arizona City. 

I ended up with some rules, couple here:1.Discrimination - Never Rent to Attorneys, Law students or Law Professors.Learn all you can about the Housing Laws i.e.

Whether you should take a retirement distribution or not depends on several factors1) How much do you value the freedom/flexibility to ues the money NOW compared to when you are 60 years old.2) What type of return can you get having cash vs investing in an IRA / SDIRA.If you can make a 1% - 2% better annual return in your personal name, it may make sense as the added return will pay for the penalties over a couple of years.I personally cashed out of my retirement account back in 2016 and it was the best decision I made.
