I have been trying to find a spot where I could live for this season and then move out after this year but finding that the areas like Short north, Victorian, GV and Clintonville are all crazy bidding wars and expensive.

A model that several investors are employing there is buying the old Victorian homes and turning them into group housing for parolees.  

Managed properties like The Victorian, unmanaged condos, single family homes, etc, each with it's own pitfalls...

I always loved victorian homes with the wrap around porch and wanted to house hack, this was a great combination of those goals.

A huge percentage of buildings in the City are Victorian-era, with a whole different construction style, and the City's Building Codes Dept is strict about things that aren't enforced in many municipalities, including the town. 

With the innovation center and the new business school things are looking up (hopefully for the basketball team this year). there are a few great old Victorian Homes in the Fairmount area that would make great flips or Airbnb’s if it were safer or at least the perception of crime wasn’t there.
