And all the activist groups now swarm around any potential development or attempted Ellis Act eviction and derail them as well. 

I was also looking into development.

For that reason we chose to stay in Buda on the NW side where there is a lot of new development including a new High School (under construction) and elementary and middles schools that are ranked well.  

After college I worked as a construction estimator for a high-rise developer in Toronto, and currently VP of a civil general contractor in Sarnia, ON.We cashed out of the city life a number of years ago and split the proceeds to by our own home and our first rental property. 

My background in real estate/rehabs has been full gut job remodeling houses that my parents have lived in as well as remodeling my current home, at one point I was a mortgage loan originator (helps knowing how mortgages/financing works), and I'm currently in the process of getting my home inspection certification to help identify issues for my own benefit was well as generate additional income.  

I am considering paying cash for a $215-$250k new construction property in a new development.

Most people under 60 now are comfortable with technology and will be willing to embrace self driving cars in 20 years when the technology becomes common and their need for it develops.

Developing a relationship with the students is key (mostly this just means leave them alone and let them do their own thing) because they will then suggest the place to their friend network when they move out/graduate.

Have located two perfect land parcels for consideration of developing a new MHP in Chicagoland suburbs.
