Beyond the mechanics of the lease, there is a lot to think about at first - like pets and fees, income verification and scams, pricing strategies, and communication with your tenant. 

You got to the right action eventually, which was to swap it out when you couldn’t get it repaired quickly.Big takeaway is big box warranties are useless (a scam really) ESPECIALLY for landlords.I wouldn’t deal with them, local company for repairs and/or replacement, every time.

There have been lots of scams over the years.   

If it's easy... it's probably a scam. 

Also Tai Lopez ads keep popping up about real estate-to me he is a scam (jack of all trades master of none & in his case he will sell anything to make a few buck).

I understand that my communication may have sounded like a scam, so I suggested to the tenant that they verify the transition with the property management company, which they did.According to the property management, the existing contract is valid until the end of its term, which means there's no need to prepare a new contract, and everything should continue as is until December.

Does this sound like a scam?

I can not find any information on them or their company other than a website which can be easily made for scamming purposes.
