When happiness(regardless of what that individually means) is the driver nothing will stand in our way.My real point, don't strive to be at $X strive to change lives, the world, the environment, whatever! 

But do we not always strive for more?

Generational wealth is what we all should strive for.

Everyone seems to be very helpful and we all are striving to gain as much as we can in our own way in REI.I will comment on your rent question.It depend on in my experience whether it is SFR of multifamily.

Agreed  David, but I certainly appreciate the intent that the organization strives for.

Always be greatful for what you have because there are others who wish they were, where you are today.But if that is not the case and you just like to strive and push a bit more then that is ok of coarse.

They specifically step aside in any disputes in this regard, and it is notoriously difficult to try to get information as the property owner (as they will generally strive to maintain client privacy). 

Similar story here...was an aerospace engineer striving for financial freedom.
