I always use this analogy: would you tell a beginner skier to ski the most advanced terrain on the mountain?

Those events will hit US overseas investors and they will want to sale their hobby resort houses on the beach as fast as possible. 

Some of the condo communities and resorts were hit with large insurance assessments this year - a byproduct of the catastrophic storms that have plagued insurance carriers servicing coastal markets like Florida. 

I reside in Massachusetts and my boyfriend and I want to purchase a vacation home in a specific resort in Davenport FL.

I would add to that the fact that STRs here are much more accepted in the resort areas.

Tahoe for me right now = amazing STRs with huge cash flow and appreciation (1-2 bedroom units / close to ski resorts but not high-end luxury properties) Florida for me right now = pretty decent STR with cash flow that covers the bills but not a lot more + appreciation which is pretty significant.

but for me that is a last resort action.

Having a shed, garage, unfinished basement, or other spots for housemates to store their bicycles, skis, seasonal clothing, tools, etc., etc. will help reduce the clutter in the house.

We love where we're at for our family and is a resort that is gated 318 acres straight to the ocean.Like others have said it's all about location and restrictions.

So what you need to do is absolutely not listen to people's opinions here on forums and resort to YOUR own common sense and data.The first thing you need to do is make sure you come across as credible an professional.The second thing is you need to be able to be found when motivated sellers come looking for a solution to their problem.Now were do you go when you want info?
