And, of course, neither of these investments produces cash flow, nor can it be easily leveraged like real estate.I do agree with the sentiment that taking these too far does get one into doomsday prepper-land.

Unless you do many B2B transactions, you should just file in the state in which you will be headquartered (hopefully that will be the most income tax advantageous state.)There's a lot of justified sentiment among the BP forums that LLC is not necessary since it may create more work and expense than required for liability protection.
