There is of course the valid argument that when buying this way, you could harm the seller in the event you did not make the payments.

Rentals that accept section 8 must meet minimum requirements for habitability and (at least in Virginia) be inspected to ensure they conform.I wouldn't think section 8 is a good idea for a first rental.
