We are basically rebuilding the vinyl villages of 2000- 2004 but only in NC and SC for now.

I would love to design home buildings and work with developers to rebuild some of the small cities in my area.

Opposed to a rebuild where something has to be be torn down for something else to be built where the appreciation is higher. 

I'll work on that one thing nonstop, day and night and then i'll just get bored with it and move on. for instance, right now i'm rebuilding/chopping my harley, taking guitar lessons online, moderating the guitar site messageboard, learning to train my pitbull , studying the feasibility of constructing a supercross track in my area, and of course learing the in's and out of real estate and thats just in this month alone.

The current home is a disaster, highest and best use would be to tear down an rebuild. 

@Bruce Woodruff - In the last five years, in Kansas City, MO, I have renovated 170 houses, mostly full rebuilds from the foundation.

(Answer: yes)If we buy fixer-uppers to rebuild and sell, and construction takes more than one year - will our profit be taxed as long-term capital gain?

A fire damaged property that needs total rebuild?

Question is:  is there something/some ways to turn over the bad apples to rebuild its reputation; or should the local police be notified? 

Been almost a year since Harvey, but I know several people who lived there and got flooded; they already sold their places to developers who are going to raise the level of the land and re-build.
