Not sure how the banks are in New Mexico, but a lot of the REO properties around my neck of the woods have asking prices over market value, so I would say where i am, it's hard to find a good REO deal. 

In my limited experience in my neck of the woods, it all depends on the particular bank (or maybe where we are in the lunar cycle, lol).

Big burly guys that smell like diesel fuel, drive jacked up 4x4s, chew tobacco for breakfast and have neck tats. 

I recommend you have some amount of coverage for catastrophic events and injuries.

I see a lot of investors from the Atlanta area so I'm sure you'll be able to meet and talk with a lot of like-minded individuals from your neck of the woods.
