Every time I return to Colombia I take said family member out to a nice dinner as a gesture of appreciation.From my experience Colombia does not have anything close to an MLS.

It's more a gesture of good faith.

But thank you for such a generous gesture that will play a huge role in changing the life of a future recipient.

If I ever saw someone do that to another human being, no matter who the other person was, I'd make darn sure the gesture was returned in kind.

Meeting of the minds sometimes can be expressed by words spoken or gestures made or can be inferred from the surrounding circumstances.
