The other half has a nice,retired, and disabled lady on a fixed income who's not going anywhere unless some unfortunate, sad events happen.I've been living and renting out this duplex for a year now, and its solid, no issues, and essentially turn key.

Hello, I'm brand new to bigger pockets and currently living in Hawaii, but moving overseas in a few short weeks.I'm a disabled veteran, and with my Navy severance from this I was able to purchase my mother a house in Oklahoma City (FHA), however she's only paying part of the mortgage of course so it isn't an investment, just a place for her to live and hopefully we can build some equity.I have some of this cash left over and would love to get into RE in hopes of some side income, but I'm brand new to this subject.To further complicate this I'm planning to move overseas in about a month.

IMO, nailing small lenders will be more profitable than workmen's comp claims or social security disability claims, which have limitations.The CFPB also as an education department, once that is in place they will begin public information activities.

Regarding SSI or disability checks, I have no evidence or research on this but I've heard say that if you request direct deposit of your benefits check, you can actually get it on the 1st.

Thus far, our tenants are people separating from a long term relationship, leaving their parents' home for the first time, somebody here on temporary work assignment (which looks to maybe becoming permanent), somebody who just moved out here to take a new job and isn't sure of where they want to live permanently and somebody who is recently disabled, but is waiting for social assistance to come through and is living off of a 401k and needs to stay some place as inexpensive as possible to make her money stretch.

Hello, add a Access control lock on the door, never will you have buy expensive locks or hire a lock smith, all you have to is issue a new key Fob, if your tenant looses or move, you just disable the key FOB assigned to that tenant,. and depending on unit size, and system that you install you can monitor entry and exit, of anyone with access.
