Glue down using an adhesive is always a good floors though again I prefer an adhesive with a hard set and not a pressure sensitive that can be affected by temperature and other factors.

@Marc Faulkner I am not licensed in any of the states you mentioned so do not take this as legal advice just ideas for you to pursue.The first avenue of defense I would pursue is negating the right of first refusal on the basis that is a contract of adhesion.

I have a relative who just installed the Ultra version, and I am thinking of doing the same, so here is what I have found in my research so far: Trafficmaster Allure has the grip strip (adhesive strips built in), and the video on Home Depot's website under that particular product shows that you have to use a leveler for any grout lines greater than 1/4" as the planks are flexible and the grout lines (or other defects) will become visible over time.

Besides that, check the peel and stick re tile mats.It's like a sheet of butyl adhesive that you stick on the wall and then stick new tile to the mat without thinset.

Several companies offer non-interlocking panels that basically just lay on the floor (generally called "Loose Lay", and they are apparently very heavy and therefore don't need adhesive or interlocking).
