Crazy life of a real estate investor

Yesterday morning, I was planning on having an easy week working on my business in Brooklyn.

By yesterday afternoon, I realized I needed to fly down to South Carolina to look at deals.

Today, I boarded the early flight to Charlotte, drove down to the Greenville/Spartanburg area, stopped in at the two deals we own down here, spoke to our property management firm, viewed three deals, met with brokers, revised an offer on one deal tonight, and in the process of revising another.  Early flight back to New York from Charlotte tomorrow.

I love real estate!

@Jonathan Twombly  your days sound better than mine hehe.  Get up and go to day job.  Call book keeper, text a tenant saying your rent was due and we have not received it yet.  receive text from different tenant (at property I just bought) that the green box in the ground has water coming out of it. (underground sprinkler control box)  Rush home from work change clothes rush over check sprinkler system find leak.  Shut valve to sprinkler system, still leaking.  Valve broke, parts store is now closed, after work on next day rush to house shut off main valve, tear out valve, rush to store get new valve to replace old compression fit valve, buy back up sharkbite ball valve just in case.  Return and install valve with compression fittings that will not stop leaking.  Go home get sawsall and come back to cut off compression rings to install sharkbite valve.  Go home get extension cord, return cut off brass rings and fittings sand pipe install sharkbite.  Go get tools from other house left in crawlspace when new valves were installed there 4 days ago.  Go light pilot light on water heater for new tenant that just moved in.  Tear out posts from previous tenants dog run.  Load in truck for taking to dump tomorrow after work.  Look at tax assessments see it is about 8K if all are paid now, slightly more if paid half in November and half next May.   Review check book to see when I will have enough to pay $4K now and pay rest next year.  Go home eat cold supper, call handyman and ask when he will be able to put shingles patch on rental since rain is predicted by weekend.  I think I like your scenario better.
