This was for funds that I don't really need and don't have a plan for--I was only considering the loan because I knew I would find a deal to deploy the funds profitably if they were actually loaned at the terms offered.

Ultimately when I do 'retire' I see myself in Tucson Arizona where the lion's share of the family lives.I have been reading pretty much anything and everything I can get my hands on (lots of time on your hands when on deployment, no?).

The first thing I would do is align myself with people who have either had $2.5 million to invest and have been successful or people who have advised people at that level on how to deploy that kind of money into investments.
